Poron plate and case foam for Keychron K2
Made from polyurethane open-cell foam, Poron foam inserts are used to modify the sound of your keyboard
Plate Foam - Sits between the switch plate and PCB
Upper and Lower Case Foam - Sits below the PCB in the case
The foam kit arrived quickly and worked exactly how you'd expect. Did a lot to dampen the noise of the K2 I purchased years ago, which was extremely resonant when typed on, especially with the stock Gateron Browns, which I also swapped out for Tecsee Purple Pandas.
I've paired that foam with the Haze Pink silent switches from Akko and I'll say: pretty happy with the result. Obviously that doesn't solve the problem with the factory stabilizers, but it makes using the K2 a much quieter experience.
The foam was missing a few holes for the screws of the PCB though, not sure why that is. My K2 is a hotswap version, so I don't know if it's related.
These literally drop into your K2 once you take the plate and PCB out, they get rid of the empty plastic sound of the K2 as it ships and ads a fair bit of weight. If you have come this far, just go the whole way with a plate, and a switch foam. You will not be disappointed.
Upgraded my both my K2 and K8 with Keyboard Kustoms PE foam, poron kit, and POM plate, and the results were incredible. Beautiful, quiet marbled thock sound and terrific feel. It is now such a joy to type on these two boards! The KK upgrades are wonderful products and I highly recommend them.
Also, I messed up the case foam install (wasn't supposed to cut it) on my K8, and Rob sent me a free replacement! Wonderful, friendly service.
At this point, when I think about buying a new board, one of the first things I check is whether Keyboard Kustoms makes upgrades for it. Thanks KK for changing my typing life!
Fits the K2v2 very well, although there's a little extra piece that I wasn't sure how to use, so I only put the bigger piece that has the cut-out for the battery in it.
Not sure how much it helps, haven't done a before/after, but sounds great with U4T's and a POM plate.
EU Customers: You'll have to pay customs + tax, so be careful that was an extra 30-40 for me.
